A woman has been left devastated after discovering through Facebook that her husband of several years—father of their three children—secretly married another woman.
The deeply personal story came to light in a viral video shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), where the woman recounted her painful journey through tears.
She revealed that her marriage had always faced resistance from her husband’s family, particularly his mother, who strongly objected because the woman is from Anambra State while her husband is from Enugu.
“There were so many red flags from the start,” she confessed. “His mum said I was from Anambra, and that he’s from Enugu, and she was never in support. She even sent me demonic messages, saying I’d die if I didn’t leave her son.”
Despite these threats, they went ahead and got married. But peace never truly followed.
“He pretends a lot and lies a lot,” she said, describing the breakdown of their relationship. “At some point, we didn’t speak for a whole year—even though we lived in the same house. It was clear he was already tired of me.”
Suspicion deepened when her husband returned from a trip accompanied by a young woman who began staying around the family. When confronted, his mother dismissed her concerns, claiming the girl was “the neighbor’s child.”
“In 2021, I visited the village, and he brought the girl along,” she recalled painfully. “She was sitting with my children in the parlor, braiding the woman’s hair.”
The truth unraveled the following year. “In 2022, he stopped coming home,” she said. “Then one day, I saw on Facebook that he had married the girl. That’s how I found out.”
The emotional toll, she said, has been enormous: “I just turned 40, but if you’d seen me five years ago, you’d think I was 65.”
Now living in Abuja as a single mother of three, she reflected on how they first met in church—never imagining it would end in betrayal.
The video struck a chord online, prompting an outpouring of sympathy and similar stories from others who had faced betrayal and family conflict.
