Nigerian music icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has sparked widespread intrigue by openly declaring his membership in the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) despite being a practicing Muslim. In a candid interview with Agbaletu TV, the Fuji maestro shared his spiritual journey, emphasizing his pride in building a CCC parish and exploring diverse paths to connect with God.

K1’s Spiritual Quest: Bridging Islam and Christianity

K1 revealed that his quest to “know God” led him to embrace both Islam and Christianity. While maintaining his Islamic faith, he became a bonafide member of the Celestial Church of Christ, a white-garment denomination founded by the late Samuel Oshoffa.

“I attend Celestial Church. I am a proud member. In fact, I built a church,” K1 stated. “I sought different religions to understand God deeply—there’s nowhere I didn’t search.”

The Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) is renowned for its strict practices: members wear white garments during worship and remove shoes in sacred spaces. K1’s affiliation highlights his unconventional yet heartfelt approach to spirituality.

The “Ganusi” Controversy: Clashing with Critics

The interview comes amid backlash over K1’s recent viral phrase, “Ganusi”, which critics interpreted as a jab at Islamic clerics (Alfas). During discussions about his mother’s burial, K1 insinuated that some clerics prioritize financial gain over spiritual duties.

Despite fierce criticism from religious leaders and netizens, K1 stood firm, refusing to apologize. “I’ve done nothing wrong,” he asserted, doubling down on his remarks. The phrase has since become a social media staple, trending at parties and online debates.

Why K1’s Story Matters: Interfaith Dialogue in Modern Culture

K1’s journey challenges traditional religious boundaries, reflecting a growing trend of Nigerians embracing interfaith spirituality. His story resonates not just as a celebrity headline but as a conversation starter on:

Religious tolerance in multicultural societies.
- The role of  artists in shaping social discourse.

- How personal faith journeys can defy societal norms.

Conclusion: Celebrating Spiritual Authenticity
K1 De Ultimate’s openness about his CCC membership and unapologetic stance on the “Ganusi” saga underscores his authenticity. As fans and critics alike dissect his words, one thing is clear: his spiritual journey continues to inspire, provoke, and redefine norms.
