The Economic and Financial Services Commission (EFCC) has declared four individuals wanted over an alleged N1.3 trillion crypto scam involving the Crypto Blaster Exchange (CBEX) trading platform. The suspects, identified as Adefowora Olanipekkiun, Adefowora Oluwanisola, Emmanuel Uko, and Seyi Oloyede, were declared wanted after a Federal High Court in Abuja granted the EFCC a warrant of arrest and order.
According to the EFCC, the suspects allegedly used their company, ST Technologies International Limited, to promote CBEX and lured unsuspecting investors with promises of unrealistic returns on investment of up to 100%. The agency claimed that the suspects' actions led to the loss of billions of naira by investors.
The EFCC's investigation revealed that the suspects' company promoted CBEX through advertisements, promising investors high returns on their investments. However, the platform recently crashed, leaving investors devastated. The alleged scam has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The EFCC's move to declare the suspects wanted is part of its efforts to tackle financial crimes and protect investors. The agency is urging anyone with information about the suspects' whereabouts to come forward.
